Post conference trauma
Hmmm.... not really. Not traumatised. I can't be - I missed most of the conference because of grievance! It was quite interesting - the way things unfolded, and I must admit I'm quite flattered that I got given a lot of credit that was undue... I should probably give it back to the people who actually did all the negotiations on conference floor, but I don't think they necessarily want to be revealed. Oh, well, NSW and QLD know who they are, atleast. But yes - a huge thanks goes out to two very special people who gave me a shoulder to cry on when shit was hitting the fan. And a special shout-out goes to those same people who negotiated so well on behalf of Victoria.
You guys rock!
A strange thing: I've been accused of ratting on deals at conference. Hmmm. Interesting. I don't recall making any deals. In fact, I declared conflict of interest because of grievance committee, and refused to take part of any negotiations. And for the very same reason, didn't run for any position within NLC at conferene. But yeah, it's fun the way rumours go around, isn't it?
I was never much of a gossiper, or a listener to gossip, so it was interesting to hear these things post-conference when apparently this was all going on under my nose...
Fun.
Well... I had fun. It was a good learning experience. Maybe I'll do better in law next semester.
