F/W and all...
Hmmm... it's been a while since I've updated this blog.... since... who knows?
I thought I'd have a relatively easy time once the semester ended, but instead, time has just gone into super fast-forward mode, with deals and negotiations finally congealing into a debatably solid lump at the NUS-Vic conference.
Hehe. Lost most of my votes but kept my dignity. Fun. And created the F/W (use your imagination) faction in the process.
I was wondering what the hell we are doing not utilizing our resources... NLC has the potential to make a lot of money and stay alive entirely free from the NUS... and avoid all the shitty politics in the process. All we have to do is utilise our resources. But oh, well... I think a lot of the people involved just secretly enjoy the political side of it. Or do so openly. Blatantly.
Trying to print materials for orientation next year, and my F/W NLC gensec hangs up on me when I call. It's sad when people prioritise the politics over the cause. The branch of NLC made a decision and Mr. Gensec decides that he's going to be shitty and not sign cheques because he doesn't like my politics. In effect: The NLC-Victoria General Secretary seems to think that the welfare of international students is not, in fact, a priority. What the hell is he doing in the organisation?
Now it's preparation time for the National NUS conference. Oh. Fun.
I'm getting 3 caucus shirts... I figure if the conference lasts six days, I can get away with wearing the same shirt two days in a row... and then a fourth one for Sarinda, since he's the only person from the Victorian caucus who won't be able to be there himself.
Busy busy. Better get back to work.
