Danny Bhoy

...Melbourne is a beautiful city...

corner of Swanston and Collins

blurry night

It's beginning to grow on me more and more... really...

Tonight the wonders of the comedy festival continued, and I went to see Danny Bhoy with Sidhaesh

Very genuinely funny... not at all contrived. Just chilled out, feel-good comedy! Loved it!

"The audience left the room with huge beaming grins, a warm fuzzy feeeling inside, and aching sides. The Bhoy done good."
EDINBURGH EVENING NEWS. 2004

...afterwards, felt a little adventurous, and walked down a little alleyway off Flinder's street (which just ended up leading to Flinder's Lane, ofcourse) and looked up only to find a cozy looking balcony... explored a little further and found a place I'll definitely visit again: Lustre Lounge

28-03-05

Will endeavour not to forget this date (wouldn't you like to know why?)

...late lunch in St.Kilda at Soul Mama(and some Champagne) with Steve...he just came back from Northern Thailand... talked about educating the masses (well, in a nutshell...)

before that... a good chat with Julian... ended up going CD shopping:

... an evening out with the boys ...

the twins strike again!

Sidhaesh tries out the boyband look...

Why is my head emerging from a pint?

"Me rambo, you stop looking at T-Shirt..."??

So this is what happens when you leave boys alone with the camera...

...and this...

Who would have known...? Good luck, man...

All that said... why the hell does Kelvin choose Monday night arrange these kinds of things? No wonder nobody turns up! Oh... well... had a great time anyway!

Tuesday morning at Victoria Market... PuiPui works in what looks like a child's favourite dream!

In the evening, I went to the first show I'm seeing at the melbourne comedy festival: "160 Characters". Excellent show, so GO SEE IT!!

”You are asked to forward your most interesting received text messages to the onstage phone. Each message is used as the inspiration for completely improvised scenes. You have the power to inspire each scene with no more than 160 characters of text!"

They only got through five messages, though... and unfortunately, all the ozzies sent boring ones just showing off about being overseas, so nothing much for them to work off... but atleast the group was really talented. I sent up a message I got from Tedy ages ago "I hate liberals! sausage? Nelson doesn't even know the cost of a sausage!"... unfortunately, they didn't get to it, seeing as they received around 20 - 25 messages...

Right afterwards, went to someone's party and ended up discussing politics in a rather drunken state (can hardly remember stumbling home afterwards...)

my partner in crime for the night (the crime of discussing world politics)

these guys look like they are about to join the choir

I assume I took this picture while Jem was driving me and Daeshy to my place... but I somehow don't remember this at all... I was told today, that apparently Vijay was quite out of it as well...

Time to do the dishes...

*sigh*

A little guidance

How many of you have noticed these signs in that little alleyway in Chinatown with the Asian grocery in it?

It's great finding little gems like this, isn't it?

Go take a look...

You can get into the alley either off Lonsdale street after you pass QV on your left, or from Chinatown...

Which one is your favourite?

Home for a change...

Let me just start by making it perfectly clear and public that I create problems where there are none.

And I'm sorry - especially to those that I effect by it. Or especially to YOU who are most effected by it. I'm not surprised that you are sick of me now...

I'm sorry.

I think too much. Really, I do. Fabricating issues is my own twisted way of showing that I care. I'm a total nutcase. Yep.

If I were a terrorist, I'd be a saint.
I'd detonate bombs in emptly fields.
If I were a mouse, I'd be scared.
There would be cats round every corner.
If I were a doctor, my patients would bleed.
Every heartbeat would be cause for surgery.
As a detective, maybe I'd be good.
But maybe I would look past the real story.
As myself, I'm a hurricane.
I bring rainy clouds on fine days.

... ok... enough on that...

I'm home. Finally. And that's great :)

Last night, after I was finished watching those two movies that I watched, I got a message from Tenzing (at three a.m.???!) "...still awake? I just reacfh home 4rm nepalese party. what u doin sunday, today? Can u please cook vegan food 4 me? I havent had one yet. I'l bring indrediants, wht do u need? Happy easter... Cheers: Tenzing-peace"

So... that means... Tenzing, Sarinda and Hani were over for dinner tonight :)

Ok... ok... not great pictures... but we had a good time. Especially when I wasn't taking the photos!

Ok... let's backtrack, because I haven't been updating anyone on any happenings in my life recently.

Last time I mentioned anything it was on the 15th of March, I believe - that was the gov't house reception.

so... let's see... Wednesday, 16th of March

...forgot to do fiction writing critique, got yelled at by lecturer... apologised and got an extension...

Thursday, 17th of March...

handed in aforemensaid assigment and had a nice chat with Chandani Lokuge, my lecturer... really wonderful woman... should read her writing soon!

In the evening I had dinner with Tedy and learned some stuff... like HTML codes for scrollbars, which never ended up working after all...

Friday, 18th of March...

So sick by now that I couldn't get up for my lecture in the morning... so there went three hours tuition down the drain... stupid law lecture isn't online, either.

But, somehow still dragged myself out of bed in the afternoon for meetings with ACPET, and Melinda from TUV

I think sometime on Friday night, I told Jeremy how my mother talked to the ants in our kitchen to make them leave... Jeremy thought he'd threaten the lives of the ones at Hope Street instead...

Saturday, 19th of March...

*groan* National Exec *groan*

Ok... not so bad. Forgot to write report. Still haven't.

I spent a lot of the weekend really sick, and between breaks at National Exec I packed up Echo and had a mental breakdown and cried a lot both evenings on Friday and Saturday (poor Sidhaesh... I'm not sure if he really knew what to do with my spasms). Also, Saturday moring, Poh Kit helped me deliver Echo to Overseas Study Fair... and I helped out there in the afternoon (just fulfilling duties until my term is over!)

PK (South Australia) on Saturday morning

William, Ginny and Poh Kit join for breakfast

International Education Week - Overseas Study Fair - congratulations TEAM! Great that we pulled it off!

...and dinner...

Sunday, 20th of March

Ali had a bbq over at his place... we resolved to burn Aditya for the cause... I saw an old steam train at the Bentleigh train station...

does he realise his fate has been decided?

Monday, 21st of March

Tuesday, 22nd of March

Wednesday, 23rd of March

Thursday, 24th of March

What did I do all week? Oh... that's right ... uni. On Wednesday I came up with that idea for a book... On Thursday I went to court for my court report. Rest of the days quite dull, interspersed with a few meetings, coughs (still sick) and too little sleep...

Was supposed to make it all the way to La Trobe for Uni Night on Thursday... But first I went to Swinburne for their 'surprise' rally - and was 20 minutes late... rally was already over... oops.

Didn't make it to La Trobe, either... had to wait so long for Swinburne people to be ready to go that by the time I would have gotten to LaTrobe, I would only be there for half an hour before having to come back to the city... Caught up with Ginny for a quick drink at Time Out instead... and just waited for Daeshy to get off work...

so near yet so far...

Friday, 25th of March

Friday's links:

"Comme Un Image"

...nice French movie... didn't leave lasting impressions, but I like the singing in it... but not a lot of people connect with classical music training (unless, like myself, they are classically trained)

E55
...stopped by in here for a drink...

then here - Charles Dicken's Pub to warm up while waiting for the tram on Elizabeth street.

Were home really early though...

Saturday, 26th of March

Oh the joy of spending a whole day in bed...

DVD rentals:
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
tears of the black tiger
(but you already know this from my previous entry...)

and now we are pretty much caught up...

Sunday, 27th of March

Sunday deserves it's very own entry... there are so many pictures to post up... involving only a few minutes in an alleyway...

Monday, 28th of March

Here. Now. In a towel. Need to get dressed and go see my friend, Julian. He refuses to be photographed, so I will take a picture of his foot, if I can, and post it here later...
